In New York, I was always alone. I created alone, went to school alone, cooked alone, ate alone, watched movies alone, sang alone, slept alone, and made decisions alone. Fortunately, I liked being alone. And because I was always alone, when I did these things, I often took photos to share with my parents and girlfriend later. Over time, taking photos became a habit of mine.
These photos document all aspects of my life in New York.
Since I only have one meal a day and always take a photo and send it to my mother and girlfriend before each meal, the documentation of food is the most complete. (The black blocks represent no meal or forgetting to take a photo that day). Therefore, it accurately shows how much food a 24-year-old male can consume in a year.
During the year, I took or saved a total of 4416 pictures. However, since my computer is unable to handle such a large amount of data, I deleted most of the duplicate or similar pictures and only display about 2000 of them on this page. The pictures are displayed in chronological order.
I had various purposes when I took or saved these pictures, but I never thought of making them as my artwork. But now, they are one of my artworks, just like one day my life may also become a part of the art world.
