My Studio

        As the names of these two paintings indicate, this is my studio. These two paintings may provoke curiosity in their audience as to the environment in which I work. The relationship between me and this studio is so deep that it almost threatens the relationship between my bedroom and me. Most of my works were born in this place. Just like the first painting, the walls of my studio look warm and gray; the color was chosen by my mother when I was very young. In reality, there are more objects in the room than the painting displays, however, it is usually as tidy and clean as the painting.

 

        Sometimes I see these two paintings as two big alien faces. The first one is how it looks as usual. In the second, by distorting the forms and colors of the first work, I hope to bring a sense of movement and instability, just like this alien finished bottles of fresh beer and felt dizzy. For me, these imaginations of these works always offer fun and profound feelings. It is the first time that I have tried to paint a relatively “large-scale” work, and it is also the first time that I have started to make a frame (inner frame) by myself based on the actual needs of the work.
